This web-based information screen is designed for large-format displays and is managed remotely. It is optimized for users who prefer a high-contrast, glanceable interface without the need for manual interaction. Visual Clarity: Utilizes large-scale typography and a simplified layout to ensure key information is readable from a distance. Passive Operation: Provides essential data at a glance, requiring no technical navigation or input from the viewer. Modular Content: Displays time, date, and weekday as standard, with options for calendar views, messages.
Data Integration: Connects via Google to fetch and filter calendar data, showing a curated selection of upcoming, unique events.

In this policy:

- Administrator / Customer: The person who sets up and manages SeniorBoard, connects Google Calendar, sends messages.
- End user: The person or family member who views the Board. .
Both roles may have personal data processed by SeniorBoard.

Legal basis: your consent (for example Google login, reading calendar, multimedia content and messages) and our legitimate interest in delivering and improving the service.

7. Google services and Calendar
If you connect Google Calendar, SeniorBoard reads your events to decide which few future items to show on the Board.
To keep text large and simple, only a small number of upcoming events (for example 6) are shown at a time.
The system can filter for relevance and avoid duplicates and long lists of repeating items.
Calendar data is used only for showing events to the end user and is not shared with third parties.
8. How we use Google user data
We use your Google user data only to provide the services you request, such as displaying your calendar events on the SeniorBoard display. We do not use your Google data for advertising or marketing purposes.
9. Sharing, transfer, and disclosure of Google user data
We do not sell your Google user data to third parties. We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than delivering the SeniorBoard service. Your data may be shared with our technology partners (such as Google Cloud and Firebase) only as necessary to operate and maintain the service.
10. Data protection mechanisms
We use industry-standard security procedures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your data. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. Your Google user data is protected using the security features provided by Google Cloud and Firebase. Only authorized personnel have access to your data, and all access is logged and monitored.
11. Data retention and deletion
When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, we will delete or destroy it. Inactive user accounts and outdated calendar events may be deleted automatically as part of our regular data maintenance. You may request for your data to be deleted at any time by contacting us at hello@seniorboard.net.

SeniorBoard uses cookies and similar technologies:

- Essential cookies: Needed to keep you logged in and to run the service. These cannot be turned off.

13. Backup and log files
Data may be included in secure system backups and used only to restore the service. Backups are kept for a limited period.
Log files may include timestamps, login status, error messages and technical events. Logs are used for security, troubleshooting and maintenance and are deleted on a rolling basis.

SeniorBoard shows content on a shared screen ("the Board"). People in the room (for example visitors) may see calendar events, messages or photos.
This can include sensitive details (for example planned visits). If you do not want certain details to be visible, limit what is sent to the Board or adjust your calendar.

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, receive a copy (data portability), and withdraw consent at any time.
